Our Cameras - Olympus Pen E-PL7 and Canon EOS 600D

Heute wollen wir euch einen Einblick hinter die Kulissen von dasjuteleben geben und über die Kameras berichten mit denen wir die Fotos für unseren Blog schießen. Julie hat ihre Canon schon seit ungefähr 3 Jahren und bei Lisa gab es kurz vor Weihnachten Zuwachs in Form der süßen Olympus. Wir sind beide keine Profis im Bereich Fotographie und wollen euch gerade deshalb diese beiden Kameras näher bringen und etwas genauer erklären.

Today we want to give you a little insight behind the scenes of dasjuteleben und give you some informations about the two cameras we use to take all the photos. Julie owns her Canon for around three years now and Lisa had an addition to her electronic family around christmas, it's the retro-stylish Olympus. We both are now pros when it comes to photography, that's why we want to tell you all the details and reasons why these two cameras are perfect for us!

Olympus Pen E-PL7 // Camera Bag

Ich weiß, man sollte eine Kamera nicht nach seiner optischen Erscheinung auswählen, wichtig ist natürlich, was drinsteckt, und doch war es Liebe auf den ersten Blick, als ich die Olympus Pen E-PL7 Systemkamera auf meinem Lieblingsblog wunschfrei.com entdeckt habe. Ich liebäugelte eine ganze Weile mit diesem süßen Ding, überzeugt hat mich letztlich aber auch die Meinung meines Vaters, der als Fotograf die Kamera ebenfalls für ganz anständig hielt - ein großes Lob. Als Kathrin von wunschfrei.com dann kurz vor Weihnachten einen super Sparcode zum Black Friday Sale rausgehauen hat, musste ich also zuschlagen!

Und was kann das Ding nun, außer schön aussehen? Eine ganze Menge, wie ich finde, denn sie ist die geborene Blogger-Kamera! Die Qualität der Bilder ist nicht nur exzellent und gestochen scharf, mit den vielen integrierten Filtern kann man die Aufnahmen gleich noch auf der Kamera aufhübschen, da kann Instagram einpacken. Praktisch ist auch das integrierte Wifi-Signal. Durch eine App ist die Kamera mit meinem iPhone verbunden, die Fotos lassen sich also ganz einfach und ohne großen Kabelsalat innerhalb von Sekunden aufs Handy ziehen.

Don't judge me by choosing a camera by it's look, of course it's more important, what's inside, but I have to confess, it was love at first sight, when I spotted this little darling on my favourite blog of wunschfrei.com. For a few months I ogled the retro-chic camera, in the end it was the opinion of my father, a professionell photographer, about the E-PL7, he really thought it's a proper one, which means a compliment on a high level. So when Kathrin of wunschfrei.com had a great offer during Black Friday Sale for her reader I had to buy this baby!

So you want to know, what this thing is able to do? It's a lot and I think, it's the born to be a blogger camera. Not only the quality is excellent and razor-sharp, but also you can use the big amount of built-in filters to pretty up your photos right on the camera - forget about Instagram! The incorporated wifi signal is also pretty amazing! With the help of an app my camera and my iPhone are connected to each other, so it's very easy and quick to get all the footage to my phone without any cable clutter within seconds.

Ein paar technische Fakten will ich euch aber auch nicht vorenthalten. Die Olympus Pen E-PL7 besticht durch eine herausragende Bildqualität durch ihre 16 Megapixel und kommt im Standardset mit einem 14-42 mm Pancake Objektiv, ein echter Allrounder. Für Selfie-Liebhaber ist vor allem das 3 Zoll Klapp-Display von Vorteil, einfach umklappen und sich selbst perfekt im Fokus haben. 

Zwar nutze ich meine Olympus Pen erst seit ein paar Monaten und werde in meinem Leben sicher noch einige andere andere Kameras testen, doch bislang bin ich mit meinem Kauf hochzufrieden und für meine Zwecke einfach perfekt. Großer Schnickschnack überfordert mich, ebenso eine umfangreiche und schwere Ausstattung. Die Olympus Pen E-PL7 ist in ihrem Retro-Design nicht nur unglaublich stylisch, sondern auch idiotensicher zu bedienen und perfekt für zarte Mädchenhände. Ein klasse Begleiter also, auch für die Zukunft!

Of course I don't want to keep back some technic details. The Olympus Pen E-PL7 impresses with an outstanding quality of the photos for the reason of 16 megapixels and for standard it comes with an 14-42 mm pancake lens, a real allrounder. For all the selfie lovers out there the 3 inches folding-display has a lot to offer, just turn it around and you will be in focus perfectly.

I only use the Olympus Pen since a few months and I will check out some different cameras in my life for sure, but until now I'm pretty amazed with my purchase, the E-PL7 is perfect for my intention. I get overwhelmed by too many bells and whistles, by an enormous and heavy equipment too. Just say the Olympus Pen E-PL7 with it's retro design is not only stylish but also fool-proof and perfect for small girl's hands. A brilliant companion, also in the future!

 

Canon EOS 600D 

Die Canon EOS 600D ist eine Spiegelreflexkamera, die perfekt für Einsteiger geeignet ist. Gewonnen hat sie mich allerdings durch das 3 Zoll große dreh- und schwenkbare Display: herrlich für Blogaufnahmen aber auch für unterwegs, wenn der Winkel oder die Perspektive einen Blick durch den Sucher einmal nicht zulassen. 

Ich nutze die Kamera sowohl für Fotos, als auch für HD Videoaufnahmen und bin immer wieder begeistert von der guten Qualität und einfachen Bedienbarkeit der Kamera. Moduswählrad, Einstellrad und Auslöser liegen nah beieinander und so lässt sich ohne viel Aufwand Beispielsweise die ISO verstellen. 

The Canon EOS 600D is a DSLR that's perfect for beginners. It had me at the latest when I saw the 3 inch big rotatable flipscreen: marvellous for blogging photography, but also for on the go when the scenery is in need of a different angle or perspective that doesn't allow me to look through the viewfinder.

I use my camera for not only for photos, but also for HD videography and am always excited about the good quality and easy operability of the camera. Mode dial, dial and shutter release are close together which allows you to quickly change settings like ISO.  
 

Die Bedienung der Kamera ist für Einsteiger gut geeignet, die Menüs sind leicht verständlich und schnell zu bedienen. Ich nutze fast immer den Manuellen Modus damit ich komplette Freiheit bei meiner Bildgestaltung habe, der Automatikmodus ohne Blitz bringt aber auch hervorragende Bilder hervor. Wenn ich im Urlaub Fremden meine Kamera in die Hand drücke um von mir ein Foto zu machen wechsle ich immer in diesen Modus und bin begeistert von den Bildern die dabei herauskommen.

Der Akku der Kamera hält bei mir meist sehr lange (5-10 Tage voller Einsatz) an - das liegt jedoch auch daran, dass ich das Display nur wenig nutze. 

Das Standardobjektiv ist das Canon EF-S 18-55mm F3,5-5,6 IS II und kommt mit einem Schalter für den Autofokus und einem Bildstabilisator daher. Ich liebäugle schon seit längerem mit dem Canon 50mm Objektiv das eine wunderbare Tiefenunschärfe erzeugt, bin aber mit meinem Standardobjektiv schon seit 3 Jahren sehr zufrieden. 

Operating the camera is perfect for beginners, the menus are easy to understand and quick to navigate. I almost always use manual mode so I am free to chose my composition and configuration, but the automatic mode without flash is great as well. When I ask people on holiday to take a picture of me I always switch into automatic mode and am always stoked by the great outcome.

The battery also holds on quit well (5-10 days usw) which also correlates with me not using the screen too much.

The standard lens is the Canon EF-S 18-55mm F3,5-5,6 IS II which comes with a button for autofocus and image stabilizer. I've been eying with the Canon 50mm lens which is a great way to avoid depth of field and make backgrounds blurry, but so far the standard lens has made me quite happy for the past 3 years.
